Social Media -The Dangerous Currency Killing (or Helping) Women’s Empowerment?

No wonder teenage girls are confused – I’m confused! Last week, I put a picture up on my Instagram of me in a bikini. This week, I have put one up of a generic smiley travel photo. The difference? Likes. Likes. The new currency of our generation. A dangerous one at that. The gains? Money, ‘popularity’, instant reassurance. The cons? Self-criticism, lack of confidence, comparison, a false reality, mental illness.…

16 Ways to Manage Anxiety and Be The Most Successful You

Over the past few months I have been inundated with messages, asking how I manage my anxiety and continue to be productive. Surprisingly, these people have ranged from CEO’s to school children, both male and female, which screams to me that it is a national issue which needs addressing. Here, I’ve written down some of the main methods I use to keep me on track. I hope they can help…

Nothing Grows in a Comfort Zone!

What are your New Year’s Resolutions this year? To give up cigarettes? Chocolate? Alcohol? Now count how many times you have set that as your New Year’s resolution before and how many times you have failed to stick to it. Sound familiar? Deprivation can be a failing formula. Unless you get to the root of what is making you feel unfulfilled and dissatisfied, you will continue to carry out acts…

The Apprenticeship of a Lifetime

As many of you who follow me will know, my business plan is about learning through experiences. Many of us take for granted how much life experiences such as travelling or new adventures can actually help you grow as a person and unlock your potential. This year has been the biggest year of my life in terms of experiences so, as I sit on my bed reflecting on my time…

Dog Eat Dog…. Is it the be all in Business?

We’re now in the final week of The Apprentice, which means the pressure is on to win Lord Sugar’s £250 000 investment… If the interview round is anything to go by. So, I find myself asking this: In Business, what lengths do you have to go to achieve your goals? And, more importantly, what other qualities are vital for success? Integrity In Business, success often comes hand in hand with…

What is next for Jade English?

Well, I can tell you for certain – this is not the last you will see of me. I started my journey of ‘The Apprentice’ almost a year ago now, and, wow, what a roller coaster ride it has been. During the past year, I have done more than I could ever have imagined possible. I ended a long-term relationship, moved to London for two months to compete in The…

Don’t Just Go Through It, Grow Through It.

A lot of you may look at me at face value and think that I’ve got it all sussed out. Well I’m here to tell you, I don’t. And I think more and more men and women deemed ‘successful’, should be less afraid to come out and show their vulnerabilities, because at the end of the day, who cares? We’re all human. What many of you won’t know is that…

MINDFULNESS: WHY IT’S THE KEY TO A STRONGER, BETTER YOU.

Life can be tough, no matter who you are. We’re all busy rushing, eyes fixed on the task in hand and don’t always give ourselves the space to pause and think about how we are. Sound familiar? As a nation, us Brits constantly try to maintain that ‘stiff upper lip’ and plough on because it’s the ‘done’ thing. And it’s the same in business; if we’re having a particularly challenging…

The Power of Self-Belief.

Have you ever thought that you aren’t good enough to do something? Be it an individual task, job promotion or even starting your own business? Have you ever stopped yourself from taking a risk, or trying something different simply due to the fear of failure? Time and time again the phrase ‘I can’t do that’ has entered my mind, be it years ago when applying for my first job as…

Women are speaking up Worldwide… and it’s about time.

48% of employed women have been sexually harassed at work according to the New Street Journal. The BBC Radio 5 Live Presenter, George Riley, has been suspended from the show following complaints from female members of staff. The Conservative Party staff members have compiled a list of 36 current Tory MPs who have either had affairs with Junior Colleagues or behaved inappropriately towards women, with some even using prostitutes. Yesterday’s…

  • Lovely chat with @mediacityuk @salutionspublishers about career satisfaction and ‘Feeling the fear... and doing it anyway!’ (Full article here 🙂)
  • Dare you 💖 Happy Valentines, remember no one is you and that is your superpower!
  • Feeling very grateful for all the people I met yesterday, but for me, meeting back up with @patrickdrakechef was by far the best. Patrick had a dream a few years ago whilst practising as a finance lawyer to be a TV chef. Although people thought he was mad at the time, he quit his ‘successful’, stable career and followed his passion -and is now one of the most successful entrepreneurs of our time. Not only does he get to do what he loves daily, but he’ll be leaving the world a happier and healthier place. He quoted Steve Jobs to me which really resonated: ‘The ones who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones that do’. Anything IS possible if you put your mind to it. Thank you Patrick - you’re an inspiration! @hellofreshuk #healthyfood #healthymind
